We would like to send a huge thank you to everyone who helped make BikeMO 2012 such a resounding success. We could not have done this without the support of the riders, volunteers and sponsors. We are working hard on making the 2013 edition even better!
BikeMO is an annual fundraiser for the Missouri Bicycle Federation and the Missouri Bicycle Foundation. Proceeds from BikeMO are use to help us in our activities of promoting bicycling and advocating for better bicycling conditions in Missouri.
The BikeMO ride starts and ends at Les Bourgeois Winery and Vineyards in Rocheport, Missouri. Rocheport is centrally located with easy access from all areas of the state. The winery is only minutes away from Columbia, a vibrant city which will provide participants with more lodging, restaurant, and entertainment choices for a great weekend trip.
The road route will pass through several historic towns along the way including Rocheport, Boonville, and Arrow Rock. There is also an additional ride option along the Katy Trail for those riders who would prefer a trail ride.
Celebrate the joy of bicycling and the Missouri Bicycle and Pedestrian Federation’s many successes on our annual fundraising ride, as we enjoy the beautiful scenery Mid-Missouri has to offer. The new route offers varying ride lengths including a full 100 mile century route through the beautiful rural countryside of the Missouri River Valley. Visit the ride web site often for more exciting updates and additions as the ride date nears.
What riders are saying:
“I thought the route very good with interesting stops. Boonville and Arrow Rock are both neat places. Either made a good destination for those using them as a turnaround point. I continued on for the full 100 mile deal. I really enjoyed the more bucolic additional miles and with interesting historical sites to see and read about. I read every sign.
Your sags are to be commended to stick it out to the slowest rider which was me. I very much appreciated their patience and the refreshments they offered. I have been on rides where those who need the sag the most are not provided for. These are the folks at the tail end who would benefit the most if the sags would stay out till the last rider makes it in.
I imagine the winery was a popular starting/ending point also. This is a beautiful place with a great view. Overall a great ride for everyone no matter the distance chosen.”
